Legal Department

IMPORTANT: IIB Legal Department Closes August 6, 2010

Note from Eva Hassett, Executive Director:

"Dear Friend of the Institute,

I am writing to tell you about a change that will surprise some of you, and around which there is some sadness. But as I am sure you know, change is a constant, for everyone.

After much deliberation, the International Institute’s Board of Directors has decided to close our Legal Services Department.

Providing direct legal services to immigrants and refugees has long been part of the Institute’s work. We are proud of that history and of the quality services we have given our clients. Considering both strategic and financial considerations, though, the Board felt this decision was necessary.  In light of our history with legal services, and our continuing concern for supporting refugees and immigrants, we want to be sure that clients – particularly those clients with little or no resources – can still access immigration services in WNY.

For information on available immigration services in Western New York, see the links below.  Any current clients with questions are welcome to call us at (716) 883-1900 ext. 325."

To contact the local United States Customs & Immigration Services (USCIS) at 130 Delaware Avenue, please call: (716) 843-7900.
